My Mother’s Majestic Southern Home

My Mother’s Majestic Southern Home

One of the best parts about being a southern boy is having a southern mother with all smiles and style!  It’s no surprise that one of our favorite colors is pink.  The psychology behind colors suggests that colors potentially determine the way we act, feel, and behave.  For this reason and many others, I prefer to be surrounded with the color pink which provides a constant flow of appreciation, love, joy and let’s not forget it’s vivacious!

The clock seen above is a French Gilded clock of the 19th Century and I would love to visit that time period and watch these fine historic staples being created by their highly talented craftsmen.  Typically these fine clocks are in the style of Louis XVI, originated in France, and contain materials and techniques such as Giltwood, Ormolu, and Carrara Marble.

Original and breathtaking, French Gilded clocks of 19th Century are highly recommended by JoJo to complete any room in one’s home.

The two exquisite statues on the left and right sides of the fireplace mantle are some of the finest examples of majolica in my mother’s home.  This young lady with the mandolin is all set to gracefully step onboard the Mardi Gras float while her beau is accompanying his lady love on his tambourine.  This indoor decor is truly a gem when one adds the famous music tracks of, “Hey Mr. Tambourine Man”, by Bob Dylan and, “Listen While I Play my Green Tambourine”, by Lemon Pipers.

Majolica is one of my favorite potteries and has three distinguished looks.  Maiolica, with an “i” contains metal oxide enamel colors and is quite delicate.  Originally from Italy, these pieces of fine art look great in any home.  Majolica, that’s with a “j” is pottery in which the glaze is applied to an unglazed body and is quite rare!  Victorian Majolica is produced on a grand scale but is also used in hard-to-find “English tin-glazed Majolica.”

  1. Let’s not forget the outfit!  One of JoJo’s staple wears, I prefer to wear comfortable polos and slacks always with a woven belt.  The shoes which aren’t pictured are great athletic shoes that go well with any outfit.  It’s important to remember that healthy feet are happy feet!  Pinks and whites are at the top of my list regarding fave colors for clothes and the best part about this color duo is that they can be worn any time of the year!  Purchsse JoJo’s looks on his Amazon Shop here!
