Always a beautiful day here in the city and I initiated my daily “Thank You” cards ritual in which every day I leave a stamped and ready to go stationary post card to thank someone in my life in my own words and writing. This reminds me I need to buy new stationary as that was my last card and I know exactly what to do. Regarding stationary, I’m all about spending the least as it’s the thought and action that counts far more at least for me at this time. My favorite and reasonably priced black and blue pens can be purchased by clicking here for the blue pens and here for the black pens. One may receive so many with these two purchases one can pass them out to people who need pens which is all the time or carry extra ones in your pockets for that “If I only had a pen” moment.
It’s nice to speak with a familiar voice from long ago which reminds me to give people I think about a call every so often to catch up. I only use official Apple AirPods and only purchase them directly from Apple’s official website here. I’ve noticed that many times purchasing Apple products elsewhere leads to a zero guarantee of problem-free experiences which is far different than fashion purchases.
There were a few first timer moves I made today which I’m proud of myself for. I sense that I’m starting to really get into the groove of something spectacular in New York and it’s all about these tiny baby steps which may have come from a recent book I read called: Tiny Habits which can be purchased here. I’ve noticed something neat about my brain and it’s that it’s only days, weeks, or even months after I’ve read something it truly starts to set in. It’s never the day of nor even the day after. I wonder if that’s called something technical?
I started watching the TV Show Cheers for the first time ever and I have to say I’m learning a whole new range of vocabulary from Shelley Long and the show can be watched here. Alright until next time:

3:10 PM the sun came out today for a split five minutes and it felt amazing as it was one of the first times ever this April to have real pure sun peak on the rooftop.
3:35 PM bought a new Hamilton Beach single serve Coffee maker that does not require coffee filters and I didn’t clean the last one for over a year and it turned out fine so I thought you know why instead of cleaning the old one I’ll just buy a new one. Very reasonably priced and it can be purchased here. i’ve noticed that when you pour in the first car it actually takes more water in them lights out which long-term could be an issue if you don’t dump it out. I wonder how it lasted so long with it without dumping it and still drinking it for over a year. Just goes to show that not everything has to be cleaned all the time. That or I got lucky.
3:40 PM While I’m waiting for my coffee it looks like Tamiflu joined me in the kitchen. I always thought that she acted like a robot and really does seem like a robot kitty. It’s all based on the way her eyes blink very slowly in the way her tail wags very slowly in the way she looks up very slowly and it’s all with 20° angle movements.
Well I’m still waiting for this coffee to make I’m also celebratory because the Apple Music service decided to start working today as opposed to yesterday with ALEXA. Looks like the office next-door has been partially remodeled and no longer has creepy graffiti on the inside of the windows that are boarded up. Looks like they also left a window open.
4:19 PM Load of laundry is done. Still have to put masks on which is Hey OK. I’m getting better at laundry and not waiting for my dirty clothes to be busting from the bathroom door which makes it easier to transport and makes me more efficient and clean.More to come! -JoJo

5:30 AM: Alarm goes off. Good morning. Thank you God for this amazing day you have given me.
6:15 AM: LiketoKnow.it shirt before it rains…hard. Sporting a BAKO Megatone Boca jersey, my Timbuk2 backpack a friend gave me which I am very grateful for, my Levi’s jeans, my Brooks Walking shoes, & black Jos. A Bank socks which are my last pair of socks before laundry so it’s time to buy a few more packs at this time as this is long overdue.
One of the many splendorous things about The City is that there are special shops to go to that have phenomenal prices one can’t find anywhere else in the country. OMG Jeans is one of JoJo’s fave staple stores for all things Calvin Klein, sports socks, and workout shorts. There’s plenty for women, in-fact I believe more than for men. I haven’t checked that section out yet but I’d be happy to.
7:27 AM: Posted yesterdays post and my photos seem to be getting better every day. I’m very happy about that & with these six mile a day runs, some things are changing indeed.
10:23 AM: Discovered a great pattern for my future days to become more successful and productive. It’s important to remember to never get “life coach/productive prep” addicted or one will end up reading and being taught about productivity and success rather than doing it.
- What people, places, and things made me successful today?
- What people, places, and things prevented me from being successful today.
- What could I have done better today to be more successful?
- What actions today brought happiness, determination, great focus, and a higher energy?
- What “deer in headlights” experiences did I have today and how may I learn from them for the future?
- Set a maximum of three goals a day. No more or one will fail to achieve any! When a dog chases both squirrels, they end up with none.
- What may I accomplish today that would make me look back at the day and confirm it was truly successful?
- Out of my weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals, what accomplishments today advanced me towards completing my major lifetime achievement goals?
- Tackle the biggest, most fear-filled goals in one’s day in order to truly be happy. Avoid “productivity procrastination” at all costs! It leads to doom and gloom.
11:09 AM: There’s an “It’s all there for you now if you earn it, work for it, & learn it.. Be patient and you’ll be a part of the greater outcome & thinking is the only way to move forward. If one decides to not think and “want” vs “do”, they will regress.” phrase that enters my head every few days and when it does, it feels great. When it’s forgotten, it feels terrible. Will determine how to keep this “momentum phrase” permanently with me. The feeling is almost like a permanent coffee without the jitters and as if a success train is passing by that reminds me of where I’m going. Perhaps I can instill this thought process psychologically by connecting it with whenever I see a yellow cab as they are always around and they aren’t going anywhere, they’ll just continue morphing with the trends.
12:00 PM: Headed out to see my first broadway show since moving to The City: The Phantom of The Opera at the Majestic Theater. Great rainy day for Phantom in The City.
1:00 PM: I’m there early so I take a tour of the neighborhood around The Majestic Theater. Would like to visit it soon.
2:00 PM: Lights out, music starts: “lot 666 a Chandelier.”
4:00 PM: Gorgeous performance.
5:00 PM: Head back home to do more work, few calls, and ready for 5:30 AM tomorrow.
Saturday June 8th 2019
5:30 AM: I wake up from a dream thinking “Whom didn’t silence their phone? Ah yes, I’m sleeping”. I remind myself today to not forget to laugh.
6:30 AM: Liketoknow.it Shoot on Charles St. My favorite street with townhomes that has the sun barely peaking at 6:30 AM and zero traffic.
7:00 AM: Starbucks Hudson & 10th.
7:10 AM: Yesterday’s blog post today. At 7:10 AM? I’m getting better at this.
7:13 AM: Publish to LiketoKnow.it
8:00 AM: JoJo’s Jot: Focus on the goal achieved in the future and change a small piece of one’s behavior can ultimately lead to that achieved goal.
10:30 AM: I walk through SoHo and come across some great food and shopping spots. The Ferrera bakeries smell divine. There’s a Christmas store that’s open year round and sometimes the streets are blocked off just for people to walk, shop, and dine. This is called Mulberry St and it’s in the heart of SoHo.
JoJo’s Jot: Ben’s Garden is a neat shop, similar to CoCo & Dash in Dallas, Texas. Great decorations, good prices, and beautiful coffee table pieces like “The Big Book of The Hamptons”. The inside is covered in white and gold, a trendy style that’s coming to a lot of shops, especially millennials.
JoJo’s Jot: 11:00 AM: Cafe Habana is a great and reasonably priced Cuban restaurant that has great food, service and location. The waitresses dress in Habana outfits of bright blue and white colors with skirts.
Their Silverwear is Winco Stainless Princeton.
Cafe Habana’s Address:
17 Prince St
New York, NY 1002
Get there early.
12:38 PM: Washington Square Park: Park Ranger finds a federally protected red spotted baby hawk, its parents, and their nest. The reason the ranger is out is because the baby hawk was in an altercation with another hawk. By the way, the baby hawk is about the size of a kindergartner.
1:00 PM: I run into a student film shooting at NYU in the park and give them my contact info as I’m always open for on-camera opportunities as long as they are fitting.
1:30 PM: I get together with some friends and we head down 8th street which has a day fair going on including drawing of “passed” beautiful birds in plastic bins, hula hooping, food, drinks, restaurants, life-sized chess, Jenga, & more.
2:00 PM: I head into a great natural foods market and get a great liter of milk.
3:00 PM: I head to the Hudson for my daily six mile run. This time I’m going to run up to The World Trade Center to test run its surrounding trails. There are plenty of people out today since it’s Saturday.
5:30 PM: I hit equinox High Line for the sauna and showers and then Manhattan Fruit Market for my $8.00 dinner.
JoJo’s Jot: Salad and Fruit Bar close up at 6:00 PM on Saturday so get there early.
7:30 PM: I had the most magical experience at Marie’s Crisis Cafe, West Village in which I walked underground into a bar that had a built in piano in the center, a crowd gathered and we all sang Les Miserables: I Dreamed a Dream and I belted it. We also sang “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, “Part of That World” from The Little Mermaid, & songs from Hello Dolly. In West Village, when one walks into a bar, one walks into song. I never thought I’d see the day & now I’ve seen everything. I was moved, touched, and almost teared when I left to hit the hay at 9:00 PM. I look forward to going back.
JoJo’s Jot: There is absolutely no video, flash, or picture taking whatsoever in this cafe due to performer reasons here in The City.
